Lookout

Project | 10

Synopsis

The Lookout app is designed to help customers to better organise their daily lives and keep them up to date by serving them timely information from a wide breadth of categories. By taking advantage of data on the device as well as data over the network, the service builds algorithms based on the users behaviour in order to be contextually relevant.

Although the app autonomously configures itself with the consent of the user, the app can also be used with reduced consent by providing a manual configuration interface for the user to control the type of content they are served. This approach was implemented to ease potential mistrust in the service, and give users more transparency and freedom of choice in the use of the application, essentially allowing the user to take back control.
